Student mocks disabled boy's DEATH, grieving PARENTS!

According to a Bill McClellan column in the St Louis Post-Dispatch, Larkin R. Dennis wrote: I'm very sorry . . . but not so sorry that the thought of a retard strangling himself with a Lay-Z-Boy doesn't make me break into hysterical laughter. But seriously folks, our society needs to get to know Angelman syndrome. We need to grow closer as a community and love our 'tards."

According to the article, she then rideculed the parents of other mentally handicapped children who complained about her extremely poor taste: They posted angry notes on her blog. Some threatened to complain to Washington University. The student mocked and taunted the parents.

Her mother wrote: "People - puh-leeze! You visit a blog to read the personal ramblings of a college student who may or may not express a politically correct viewoint on a subject in which you have an emotional investment and you feel you can dictate both the tone and the content of said essays. You may not. Oh wait! I get it! You have to assault my daughter with your gramatically challenged rants because you will never be able to direct your frustration where it really belongs: your 'little angel.' Let's take a survey: Despite growing pressure in this country to never say or write anything which has the teeth to offend so much as a blade of grass, how many readers think Death by Barcalounger is hilarious? I do, so blame me for my daughter's ability to twist tragedy into sarcastic irony."

She seems to have removed the original post from her blog here, but has posted an insincere apology: http://shinyobjects.blogspot.com/

Here is the tragic story of the boy's death:

Bush can't find enough suck-ups to fill the room

"Only a few hundred members showed up for the hastily organized event at a Washington hotel and empty chairs were removed from the back of the ballroom before Bush arrived."

Historians say Bush worst president ever

From The Motley Fool

http://news.yahoo.com/s/ucrr/20051203/cm_ucrr/isgeorgebushtheworstpresidentever

"Poor James Buchanan, the 15th president, is generally considered the worst president in history...he was a confused, indecisive president, who may have made the Civil War inevitable by trying to appease or negotiate with the South...Buchanan set the standard, a tough record to beat. But there are serious people who believe that George W. Bush will prove to do that, be worse than Buchanan. I have talked with three significant historians in the past few months who would not say it in public, but who are saying privately that Bush will be remembered as the worst of the presidents. There are some numbers. The History News Network at George Mason University has just polled historians informally on the Bush record. Four hundred and fifteen, about a third of those contacted, answered -- maybe they were all crazed liberals -- making the project as unofficial as it was interesting. These were the results: 338 said they believed Bush was failing, while 77 said he was succeeding. Fifty said they thought he was the worst president ever. Worse than Buchanan. The scary part is that we have three more years of Bush and Corrupt Co. in front of us"

What I Believe

I believe the sun will come up in the morning.
I believe my wife loves me.
I believe mankind will not become extinct.

My philosophy of life is to live a simple, decent, life in honesty, to raise up my children to do the same, and to let other people live however they see fit.

All things in moderation. Reduce, Reuse, Recycle.

Religion does give hope to the weak, but it has probably done more harm than good.

Dispatch from the religious wars

Dr. Paul Mirecki was beaten after recently standing up against Kansas religious fundamentalist wackos. He is recovering in the hospital.

Background:

"Mirecki recently wrote online that he planned to teach intelligent design as mythology in an upcoming course. He wrote it would be a “nice slap” in the “big fat face” of fundamentalists. The remarks caused an uproar, Mirecki apologized, and KU announced last week the class would be canceled."

First Post

Welcome to my blog. I have decided to try and build this thing up to the point where I can get some ad revenue from it. I'll be posting at least once a day.

I like to work with people in an office, but am put off by office politics. I can't stand hostility and brownnosers. My career is off track, so that my wife can pursue her dream career. I often say that I am overqualified for any job I can get, but underqualified for any job that I would want. More about that later.

I am currently working in the mall selling cell phones. There are worse jobs, but I actively avoid people, thereby avoiding embarrassing myself. I am probably one of the worst salesman in the world. I don't even know the prices for the phones that we sell right now. I have tried many times to make price lists, but they change the prices so often, I can't keep up. This company is very poorly run and I am doing only the minimum. The less I sell, the less I work and the less I work the less I know and the less I sell. You could call it the job death spiral. This industry is for desperate people!

St Louis is frozen right now. It is currently 26 degrees with a windchill of 14. It isn't expected to get above the freezing point until Saturday.

Time for lunch.
